this would be my first car and the one i want to get is in almost perfect condition the guy who owned it never really used it (antique dealer guy) it has 3,450 miles on it and wants to sell it between 3500 to 5500 dollars my dad is more worried about it being hard to get parts for it and that if i have a problem with the car it would be about 2 weeks until i could take it to a specialty auto worker i just want to know if i buy this car and i do have a problem will it cost alot of money for specialty parts
tell your dad, jc whitney has all the parts you need. that car will be worth alot of money.

Did you look at the links I sent you in your last question? As nice as it would be , this car is 46 years old and has probably not been on the road in the last few decades. This is now a collectors car , not a first time buyers car unless you plan on keeping it in the garage for investment . This is not the kind of car you would use as a daily driver , and certainly not the kind of car for a kid who would probably try to race his friends. They did not have much power , nor did they have much heat in the winter. Your dad may be correct in getting you to buy something a little newer .

I am with your dad on this. What special parts, there was nothing special about this car to begin with. it would be just trying to find parts for a car 45 years old. First go on-line and see if there are any body or engine part for the Corvair, A lot of engine were strip out for dune buggy, the little flat opposing 4 banger

Me.
I wouldn’t buy a "62 Corvaire for a first time car owner.
The parts aren’t that hard to find, but this is an antique car, not a daily driver.
Another thing to consider, unless you typed it wrong, the dealer is full of $%#& if he told you that 3,450 was the actual miles on this car. The odometer has been rolled over at least once, possibly a couple of times.
