323 MPH TurboJet car blows away Texas Speed Record

Live on from the Texas Mile, Spring 2008, we check in with Team Dewitt as they attempt to set the new Texas top speed record in their Turbo Jet turbine funny car. Producing 6,500 lbs of thrust from a GE fighter jet engine, this car is a sight to behold.

    there are racing tires especially made, this is just one run.
    they probably switched them out right after this. notice how in NASCAR, they have pitstops every 5-6 laps. they’re doing in excess of 100mph all the time, around a course where there is much friction. i’d say about
    1 run of jet car = 3 laps at nascar.
